Grant for the Gonçalves group (Genome editing) from AMM Only Project Monaco
The Gonçalves group has received a 429,000 euro “Only Project – Pioneers Grant” from the muscular dystrophy association Monaco (AMM). This research will be performed in collaboration with the Aartsma-Rus group (Human Genetics). All grant recipients and the AMM advisory board met in Monaco, where the awardees presented their projects. The meeting was honoured by a visit from H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, who has supported Only Project’s initiatives from the very beginning. The funded research project aims to establish a pipeline for discovering and testing advanced Duchenne-targeting gene editing systems using human muscle cells and humanized dystrophic mice.
