Our common goal is simple and easily described, but the roads we take and focus points we have in our science are very diverse. It is our mission to unravel the molecular details of the working of cells in their normal function and the perturbed functioning in diseased cells and to help translate our knowledge and technologies to clinical practice. The molecular levels our research focusses on varies from chemically manipulating and understanding biological processes on a cell biology level all the way up to intervening in diseased tissues. The techniques we use for this also spans a broad spectrum from classical biochemistry towards state-of-the-art electron microsopy. Ranging from virus biology to genome editing, diabetes and oncogenic signaling, our scope of interest covers a wide area of the life sciences.
