Research:

The main focus of my research in the group is the synthesis of peptides, mainly ubiquitin(like) and derivatives thereof.  Besides the ubiquitin I synthesize specifically modified peptides like phosphorylated peptides, variations of the N-terminus (biotinylation, acetylation, fluorophores, etc), UV cleavable peptides and peptides with a side chain modification (such as thiolysine e.g.)

Curriculum Vitae:

I obtained my bachelor degree in Organic Chemistry at the Hogeschool Utrecht in 2016. My first internship was focused on monitoring impregnation of pigmented polymer films with colorants using fluorescence microscopy at the University of Amsterdam in collaboration with DSM Waalwijk. During my graduation internship I focused on the synthesis of a building block for the construction of an octa dentate bifunctional chelating agent for zirconium-89. After my graduation I travelled and volunteered  for a few months in Nepal before starting my career at the group of Huib Ovaa in April 2017.
