Sudarshan Narasimha Murthy

Research and CV

I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher here, working towards discovery of small molecule inhibitors against DnaE1 from Mycobacterium tuberculosis. I have a PhD from the University of Oulu, Oulu, Finland where I developed small molecule inhibitors for specific mono-PARPs. My work includes protein expression, purification, and characterization, as well as structure solution using Cryo- EM and X-ray crystallography. Prior to my PhD, I worked as a Project Assistant/Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, India where I conducted phylogeographic studies of an endemic frog genus from the Western Ghats. I also have experience as a Technical Trainee at Aurigene Discovery Technologies, Bengaluru, India where I was involved in conducting crystallization experiments, data collection, and structure solution. In addition to my research experience, I have also been involved in teaching lab courses for the bachelor degree program at University of Oulu and co-supervised a Master’s thesis .
