Sudha Suriyamurthy

Research:

I am a PhD student in the laboratory of Prof. Peter ten Dijke. I am interested in deciphering the epigenetic modifications that takes place under the influence of TGF-β signaling in cancer. TGF-β pathway has a dichotomous role, it acts as a tumor suppressor in normal cells and a tumor promoter in more advanced cancers. My study will try to map the different epigenetic changes in breast cancer model system upon TGF-β treatment.

Curriculum Vitae:

I completed my Bachelor and Master degrees in Biotechnology from the University of Madras, India. Then, I worked as a research assistant in the National University of Singapore under the supervision of Prof. Reshma Taneja. I worked on characterizing the role of a lysine acetyl transferase, P/CAF in Pediatric cancer Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. Since 2018, I joined the laboratory of Prof. Peter ten Dijke as a PhD student.
