Research:

TGF-beta plays an important role in tumor microenvironment, which coordinates the interaction of immune cells and tumor cells in a balanced or unbalanced status. We are interested how can we inhibit TGF-beta induced epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) in cancer cells to mitigate metastasis and overcome immunotherapy resistance. Using CRISPR library screening, we hope to identify novel targets on cancer immunosuppression and sketch a better profiling of TGF-beta-induced EMT.

Curriculum Vitae:

I did my Ph.D training in Life Sciences Institute at Zhengjiang University (2015-2020), under the guidance of Prof. Junfang Ji. My Ph.D work was focused on tumor metabolism and cancer stem cells (CSC) in Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC), which helps us to explain tumor heterogeneity in liver cancer. And I mainly focused on a liver-abundant miRNA named miR-192.Through generation AlbCre; miR-192fl/fl mice combined with different HCC-induced mouse models, we found hepatic loss of miR-192 was quite important in the pathogenesis and progression of HCC. Presently I’m performing research as a postdoc in Cell and Chemical Biology department of LUMC under the supervision of Peter ten Dijke. Specifically, I will focus on how TGF-beta interplay with immune cells and cancer cells.
